ETTRICK, Wis. – A 44-year-old man was arrested after a 10-mle chase over dark backroads ended with him wrecking his car in muddy field up Moen Coulee northwest of Ettrick. Neither Christopher Doeslaere of Black River Falls nor his passenger, Ashli Laberdie, 37, resisted arrest. Nr did either suffer injuries. Doeslaere, however, told deputies at the scene that had swallowed a substance of some sort. He was taken to the Whitehall hospital, where he was treated. On release he was charged as a felon fleeing a officer, drug possession, resisting arrest, bail jumping, and driving after revocation. Laberdie was charged with an open-bottle violation. An irony: Both were under a judge’s order not to be in contact each ther. The chase began west of Blair on U.S. Highway 53 near Brekke Ridge Road. They were stopped for a traffic violation, then sped off.

Doeslaere. Back to jail.
