EYOTA, Minn. – Authorities ruled out carbon monoxide poisoning in the death of a man and the incapacitation of two others in an Eyota garage over the weekend. A gas furnace heated the garage part of the house, but aside from a few internal leaks, the furnace was not the problem, the medical examiner said. First-responders at the scene, who suspected drugs, injected the men with rapid-acting opioid- countering Narcon. One man regained conscious. Asked if he had taken drugs, he mumbled incoherently but signaled a thumbs-up, a first-responder said. No evidence of drug use was found in the garage, deputies said. Toxicology tests were ordered.
