LACROSSE, Wis. – Two people escaped from a North Side house threatened by a fire in a detached garage. Firefighters said one of the persons suffered minor injuries. The garage was heavily damaged. So was a camper parked at the garage. The fire was about 11:20 a.m. on the 1600 block of Gillette Street across from Logan High School. Tentatively the fire was blamed on a spark from a welding torch.
