GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. – Minnesota-based General Mills, which markets packaged foods, including Cinnamon Toast Crunch breakfast cereal, doubts the claim of as California claim that he found a shrimp in his box. At first General Mills apologized to the man and offered to send him a replacement box. Then it all went viral. In the online fray General Mills said that what might have appeared to be a shrimp probably was “an accumulation of the cinnamon sugar that sometimes can occur.” If there indeed was a shrimp among the man’s cereal squares, it didn’t come from General Mills the company said: The box of cereal could have been tampered with. Mike Siemienas, a company spokesperson, asked the man to send the package to investigate further.
