CHASKA, Minn. – Gubernatorial hopeful Scott Jensen, a Republican, released a video that equates the anti-CoVid restrictions imposed by Governor Tim Walz with Nazism and the Holocaust. Jensen said the gradual erosions of freedom in Germany in the 1930s were akin to Walz’s gradually increasing state restrictions, including face masks,  early in the pandemic. “Little things grew into something bigger,” Jensen said. “Then there was a night called Kristallnacht. The night of the breaking glass. Then there was the book burning, and it kept growing and growing, and a guy named Hitler kept growing in power.” The video was drawn from a speech that Jensen made in April. A campaign aide said Jensen can be expected to return to the theme.
