WINONA, Minn. – The Minnesota Historical Society granted $44,500 to the First Congregational Church in Winona. The grant is for preservation work. The church already is on the National Register of Historic Places. The church. built in 1882, is noted for its transitional High Victorian Gothic and Richardsonian Romanesque architecture. Auxiliary structures include an 1891 Victorian parsonage and a1934 Colonial Revival sextonage.
