WINONA, Minn. — Volunteers on snow blade equipped four-wheelers swept Friday’s snow from their oval track on West Lake Winona in preparation for racing. Next their task was the smaller nearby round track, this season with bump-outs.  No new storms were predicted the coming week. Lake ice was expected to survive a slight thaw predicted fro Tuesday afternoon. Otherwise, it’ll be subfreezing all week.

Round and round we go. Expect the roar of four-cycle engines from the lake soon. Image: Steve Lunde
