DOVER, Minn. — A 36-year-old Dover man found unresponsive on a Dover street two weeks ago was the victim of an assault, according to investigators. They said their conclusion came from a witness and audio and video evidence. Sheriff’s Sergeant James Schueller said that the Dover man was drunk and was asked to leave a bar. He was outside when a verbal altercation occurred. Investigators have not been able to determine whether the man was pushed or fell but that he was not severely beaten. The severest injury came when his head struck the ground, Schueller said. The victim, whose injures have been described as life-changing, has no recollection. He remains in recovery at a Rochester hospital.
