WINONA, Minn. – The Winona County Public Health agency joined the national chorus to convince doubters that forthcoming coronavirus vaccines are safe. Melanie Tatge, the agency supervisor, told radio KWNO listeners that vaccines are monitored by people who are committed to public well-being. The Federal Drug Administration, the Centers for Disease Control, and the Advisory Committee for Immunization Practices all have reviewed the vaccine data to confirm manufacturers’ research to effectiveness and safety, Tatge said. The first vaccine, from drug-maker Pfizer, has shown a 95% efficacy rate, she said.
