RICHLAND. CENTER, Wis. –A high school basketball referee died after collapsing on the court. Tracy Krueger, 69, was stricken while officiating a game between Richland Center and Mount Horeb. He blew his whistle during the second half to indicate he needed a break. Several medical professionals from Mount Horeb and Richland Center recognized signs of distress and rushed to the court. CPR was started immediately. Krueger was taken to a hospital, where he died. The game was being livestreamed, but the stream was paused after the incident and was not resumed. The video has since been made private.
