ST. PAUL, Minn. — Governor Tim Walz authorized disaster assistance for Houston and 12 other counties that suffered heavy damage from summer storms. The Houston County damage was from a tornado and devastating winds on July 23. Walz said the amount of relief will be determined as damage estimates solidify. “Minnesota’s emergency management team has been hard at work meeting with local teams to assess damage,” the governor said. At least one barn, trees and crops were damaged. The Valley High golf course lost 150 trees.
