WASHINGTON – The U.S. Senate e voted 54-35 on a procedural motion against creating an independent commission to probe the deadly January 6 attack on the Capitol by supporters of outgoing President Donald Trump. Eleven senators failed to vote, some having gone home for an early start on the extended Memorial Day weekend. The bill earlier passed the House.
