WASHINGTON—The U.S.  Senate voted 52-48 to defeat Senate filibuster reforms, in effect killing proposals to blunt state-level voter suppression legislation.

NOTE: Democrats Joe Manchin of West Virginia and Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona, voted with Republicans to maintain Senate procedural rules that allow Republicans to thwart voting rights nationwide.
