NELSON, Wis. – A Minnesota hunter was airlifted to an Eau Clair hospital after falling from a tree stand in remote deer country 10 miles northeast of Nelson. The injuries to Garret Pavelka, 16, of Wabasha, turned out to be minor. Pavelka said a tree limb snapped while he was climbing to the stand. He fell 20 feet. Buffalo County deputies said other hunters found Pavelka lying at the edge of a field on a ridge top. His parked cae was down below.. This was about 1 p.m.
