LOS ANGELES – Wherever skies are cleat in North America, the moon will go onto total before dawn Tuesday. Astronomers at the Griffith Observatory said the totality will last 1-1/2 hours starting at 4:16 a.m. Central Time as Earth passes directly between the moon and sun. As an extra treat, Uranus will be visible just a finger’s width above the moon, looking like a bright star. This is the second total lunar eclipse of the tear. The next will be in 2025.
