WINONA, Minn. – Two motorists escaped serious injury when two vehicles collided and one flipped onto it roof. Police said Jonathan Abuel-Melendez Arroyo, 22, of Winona, missed a stop sign at Fifth and Winona streets, near downtown, and hit a second vehicle, which overturned. The driver of the second vehicle didn’t require medical attention, police said. A passenger in Arroyo’s vehicle was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Arroya was cited for driving after revocation, no proof of insurance and failure to stop for stop sign. Arroyo was traveling northbound on Winona, the other vehicle eastbound on Fifth. The accident was about 5 p.m.
