STANLEY, Wis. – A school bus carrying 20 children home was struck by a car that police said failed to yield right-of-way. None of the children nor the bus driver was hurt, Sheriff Jim Kowalczyk said. A passenger in the car was was flown to a hospital with serious injuries. The driver was taken to the hospital by ambulance. The accident was about 3 p.m. The Stanley-Boyd school bus was heading west on County Road X south of Stanley, which is 25 miles east of Chippewa Falls. Sheriff Kowalczyk said the bus driver waited with the kids until another bus driver could arrive to take the kids to Stanley.
