LACROSSE, Wis. – The state Natural Resources Department has called a public meeting about a city request to build a cruise ship landing on Isle la Plume. The city wants to use dredged muck from the Mississippi River bottom as fill. The fill would be topped off with soil and seeded. The hearing:1 p.m., Tuesday, at Black River Beach Neighborhood Center, 1433 Rose Street. The proposed cruise ship facility would be at Houska Park, a few blocks over a footbridge to touristy downtown shopping.
