SHELBY, Wis. — A LaCrosse woman died when her car went into a ditch and overturned several times on Highway 14/61 south of Lacrosse and two miles east of Shelby. The woman was thrown from the vehicle and died before first-responders arrived. Police identified the woman as Julie Ross, 59. The accident happened just before 5 p.m. near the intersection with Helke Road. Deputies aid that the vehicle was headed west toward LaCrosse when it went into the ditch, went up an embankment and overturned numerous times. Highway 14/61 was closed two hours.
