RACINE, Wis. – A judge ordered a Racine man charged with election fraud to stop giving news interviews about the case. In the interviews Harry Wait, 68, likened himself to George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and other national heroes. He acknowledged requesting ballots under false names, but, he said, did so to expose vulnerabilities in the Wisconsin election system. Wait, acting as his own attorney, asserted his actions were protected “under organic law of the nation.” Clearly the interviews irritated Judge Robert Repischak. Conviction could mean 13 years in prison.
