MENOMONEE FALLS, Wis. – The 1,100-store Kohl’s retail chain has joined many iother nag-box chains closing their doors on Thanksgiving Day, including stores in Rochester and the LaCrosse suburb of Onalaska. Chief executive Michelle Gass said the loss of Thanksgiving as a super start for holiday sales reflects “changing customer expectations and behaviors” in the pandemic era. Kohl’s expects that customers will start holiday shopping earlier with as the chain rolls out pre-Thanksgiving bargains, Gass said.
