LACROSSE, Wis. – Pubic hearings are under way on merging Logan and Central high schools in a new $195 million facility. Next will come a survey of parents and faculty. Superintendent Aaron Engle said the tentative site is 40 acres at the corporate Trane building near Hillview Terrace. How would the project be paid for? Increasing property taxes $8 per $100,000 of value is a possibility, Engle said. There would be new athletic facilities, although a new football stadium and swimming pool would need to be financed separately, he said. The current Central and Logans schools would become junior highs.
