POMSFORD, Minn. – The executive director of Honor the Earth, Winona LaDuke, commended action by Minnesota state agencies and the attorney general against the Enbridge pipeline company for environmental abuses in 2021. LaDuke cushioned her praise by also saying that the agencies could have pre-emoted environment-unfriendly Enbridge activities. Environmental decency and tribal treaty rights should have precluded the Enbridge Line 3 project from even starting, let alone continuing, LaDuke said: “Remember that the aquifer is still hemorrhaging water and the level of contamination is increasing,”
