LANSING, Iowa — A man found dead in the Mississippi River early Saturday was from Brownsville in western Wisconsin. Police Chief Ross Kolsrud said the victim was Robert Merlin Biertzer, age 63. He fell into the river while walking on the docks in Lansing, the chief said.
