WINONA, Minn. – Winona High School students got a sneak peek at the thinking that filmmaker Alejandro Palacios brings to his work. Palacios, in town for the Frozen River Film Festival, told student that their voices have value. “Whatever you have to say, whatever your story is, it is worth sharing,” he said. Palacios, director of the Latinx Film Project in San Francisco, showed his bilingual documentary on the impact of a small group of Latinx photographers on rural life north of San Francisco. Palacios also shows the film at 10 a.m., Sunday, at the Frozen River festival at Winona State University.
