MINNEAPOLIS – A kingpin in financing the Minnesota Republican Party and GOP candidates, Anton Lazarro, pleaded not guilty to child sex-trafficking. Lazarro asked for to be released on bail, but Federal magistrate Judge Hildy Bowbeer said no. She cited the severity of the alleged crimes. At the hearing, a police officer on the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension’s Human Trafficking Task Foce described Lazzaro as a “sex buyer.” The officer testified, also, that a 19-year-old employee of Lazarro, Gisela Medina, recruited girls ages 15 to 17 for commercial sex. The officer said girls were lured with expensive purses, money, makeup and cell phones in exchange for sex with Lazzaro.
