ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Minnesota Supreme Court declined to hear an appeal by opponents of Enbridge Energy’s Line 3 oil pipeline through pristine northern Minnesota forests and wetlands. The Court didn’t explain itself, stating only that that it accepted a lower court decision to allow Enbridge to proceed. The lower court had upheld a regulatory agency’s approval of the project. Environmentalists and Indian tribes have no apparent further recourse in the courts. They continue, however, to press the Biden and Walz administrations at the federal and state levels to order a halt.
