ISABELLA, Minn. – Firefighters retreated from the path of the growing Greenwood Fire in the Boundary Waters area.  The fire, burning 10 days, was shifting northeast toward McDougal Lake southwest of Isabella and was still uncontained at almost 9,000 acres. The U.S. Forest Service said the fire would soon State Highway 1 near the intersection of Lake County Road 2. Cabins, homes, and recreational sites were evacuated earlier. Other fires in the area increased over the weekend due to warmer temperatures, lower humidity, and gusty winds.
