SPARTA, Wis. – A Milwaukee drug-dealer will spend the rest of his life in prison, probably at the bleak, stone Waupun penitentiary. Michael Hartmann, 39, was sentenced by Judge Todd Ziegler to life in prison for shooting and killing a man in Sparta in June 2020. The sentencing included concurrent terms of 12 years for delivery of meth over 50 grams, 12 years for attempted armed robbery, and six years for possession of a firearm as a felon. In November a jury found Hartmann guilty of all four charges. Hartmann was arrested in Waukesha three months after the shooting.

Hartman. Four sentences total life plus 12 year plus 12 years plus six years, but they’re concurrent.
