ROCHSTEER, Minn. – A developer who created much of Rochester’s skyline, Gus Chafoulias, died at the Mayo Clinic hospital. He was 85. Chaufoulias’ projects dating to the 1980s included the DoubleTree Hotel, the University of Minnesota-Rochester, and Centerplace Office Building. More recently he built the Hilton Hotel as part of the Destination Medical Center initiative.
