YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK, Wyo. – The National Park service launched a massive search for a Winona man missing in one of the most remote places in the Lower 48. Pressed into service were 20 ground searchers, two helicopters, drones, and a search dog team to find Austin King-Henke. The 22-year-old former Cotter High School student was last seen September 12 when he set out alone with a backpack to hike to 11,000-foot Eagle Peak. He made it to the summit September 17 despite horrific weather and called family about his accomplishment. He hasn’t been seen or heard from since. The search began on Eagle Peak and also included Eagle Pass, Mountain Creek Trail and Eagle Creek Trailhead. On his way into the wilderness King-Henke checked in with a park ranger at the remote Howell Creel cabin. The ranger his plan at that point was to go Site 6D8 and set up camp and climb the peak the next day.
