STEWARTVILLE, Minn. – A Red Wing man has been charged with raping a Stewartville teenager whom he admitted he had bound feet and hands with zip-ties. Jason Benson, 23, was accused on two counts of criminal sexual conduct. According to the criminal complaint, the 17-year-old girl, from Stewartville, told investigators that she met Benson on Facebook in September and that he picked her up at home. The girl said they drove to Bear Cave Park and that then he raped her twice in the vehicle. He then drove her home, the complaint says. She told her mother, who contacted the sheriff’s office. What about the zip ties? Investigators quote Benson that yes, it happened, but that it was consensual because they had a conversation about it. He admitted to sex about once a week with women he met in social media, investigators said.

In Benson’s car when arrested, investigators reported finding handcuffs, a pistol with two 9mm rounds, two knives, a stun gun, 100 cable ties, leg shackles, a black studded restraint, ad a black aluminum bat with drilled holes and a rope attached.
