ROCHESTER, Minn. – A Rochester man who was tracked from California towing a trailer with 230 pounds of marijuana agreed to a plea deal. Jeffrey Lawstuen, 47, said he will accept a sentence on a first-degree drug trafficking if it could be served concurrently with an earlier 65-month prison conviction. In October 2018 Lawstuen had driven to a California area known for illegal marijuana cultivation. He was tracked as he was driving back to Rochester. Minnesota authorities picked up signals from his pickup truck as he crossed from South Dakota into Minnesota. They stopped near the Stewartville exit to Rochester on Interstate 90.

Lawstuen. Now his 2018 trek for California weed is figuratively almost over.
