WINONA, Minn. — The Winona City Council approved dates for Steamboat Days to return after a pandemic-forced hiatus last year. The dates: June 16-20. Maynard Johnson, festival president, said events will be scaled back but still include the Gold Star carnival, concessions, and beverage garden at Levee Park. There will be a shortened BK5K road racex, a municipal band concert, the Big Cup Golf Classic, a kids’ fishing contest, and softball, volleyball and bean bag tournaments. The medallion hunt and golf tournament are also planned. The parades, fireworks, and car show could happen if Covid restrictions are loosened, Johnson said: “We’ve all been working hard to try to be as safe as possible and put on this 2021 event.”

Schedule trimmed in pandemic wake. Five days starting June 16.
