ROCHESTER, Minn. —With rising coronavirus infections in the region, Mayo Clinic has banned visitors at outlying inpatient and outpatient facilities. The ban includes Austin and Albert Lea but not Mayo hospitals or clinics in Rochester. Deepi Goyal, regional chair of Mayo practice, said the goal is to deter community spread of the virus. The restrictions, he acknowledged, can be difficult for patients and families but are necessary to protect patients and staff.
