Severe winds at time; extreme cold hinders rescue
TORONTO, Canada – A Delta regional airliner in-bound from Minneapolis crashed on landing at the Toronto airport The plane was carrying 80 persons — 76 passengers and four crew. All survived, according to initial reports. Although upside down, the fuselage was intact. Most walked or stumbled off the plane through front and red exits. Some were carried away on stretchers. The plane, a twin jet Bombardier CRJ-900, was operated by Endeavor Air under contract with Delta.
