ST. PAUL, Minn. – The projected Minnesota budget surplus has grown more than $1.5 billion over the past four months. The state Budget Office now expects a surplus of $9.2 billion by the fiscal biennium’s end in 2023. The projection gives Governor Tim Walz and the Legislature more room to negotiate spending and tax proposals in next few months.
