EYOTA, Minn. – A food-vendor trailer owned by David and Chris Jorde, who operate the Poppa J’s Kettle Corn concession at summer events, has disappeared. The trailer was stolen from the 200 block of Sixth Street Southwest with all of the Jordes’ equipment. The contents were worth an estimated $8,000. The Alumacraft trailer was worth another $14,000, they said. Apparently somebody had unhooked the trailer from the Jordes’ truck and hooked it up to another truck and driven off. This, as best as the Jordes can figure, was between 1 and 7:30 a.m. Worst of all, the theft was on the eve of Eyota Days, a prime venue for Poppa J popcorn. The good news: The Jordes posted their plight on social media and reached 40,000 people within 90 minutes. As a result, they received enough help to jigger an alternative vending vehicle for the Eyota Farmers Market that kicks off Eyota Days.
