LACROSSE, Wis. – The Mississippi River at LaCrosse is running 10 feet above normal levels – the highest since 2020. Meteorologist Dan Baumgardt of the National Weather Service expects the river to begin receding next week. He doesn’t expect it near the 12-foot flood stage. The heavy flow, Baumgardt said, is due to heavy recent rains on top of  the usuual spring run-off.
