Federal charges filed for January 6 role

BEMIDJI, Minn. — A seasonal worker at a garden nursery, Jordan Kenneth Stotts, 31, of Moorhead, was arraigned before a federal magistrate for being inside the U.S. Capitol in the January 6 siege. The acting U.S. attorney for Minnesota, Anders Folk, said Stotts was the first Minnesotan charged in connection with the riot. The six-page criminal complaint against Stotts includes photos of him appearing to be by himself and wandering aimlessly among the crowd inside the Capitol, gawking and taking pictures. He doesn’t appear armed. He is clad in a nondescript canvas jacket, blue jeans and a brown knitted cap. An FBI agent said that Stott admitted in an interview at the Moorhead police station Wednesday to being inside the Capitol about an hour. After the interview Stotts was arrested and taken to Bemidji for the arraignment. The charges:

> Knowingly entering a restricted building without lawful authority.

> Violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds.
