NELSON, Minn. – A Minnesota woman was seriously injured when she lost control of her motorcycle on a bridge over the Chippewa River backwaters. Melinda Peasha, 49, of Plymouth, was airlifted by a helicopter that landed on the Highway 35 right-of-way to take her 50 miles to a Rochester hospital. The impact of the crash tore off the front end of her bike. She was flung 50 feet. Deputies said that Peasha was wearing a helmet and protective gear.
