ZUMBRO FALLS, Minn. – A Lake City motorcyclist was killed after striking a deer northeast of Zumbro Falls. Daran Atkinson, 51, of Lake City, died before first-responders could begin emergency protocols beyond cardio-pulmonary resuscitation. A passenger, Lori Schueller, of Lake City, was transported 30 miles to a Rochester hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The accident was about 11:30 p.m. at Wabasha County Road 17 and 335th Avenue.
