KENOSHA, Wis. – An MSNBC freelancer producer covering the Rittenhouse murder trial was pulled over by police who thought he was tracking a bus taking jurors to their sequestered lodging for the night. The freelancer, James J. Morrison, was detained briefly and cited for running a red light, ostensibly, according to police, to keep up with the bus. At MNBC headquarters in New York, the network denied that Morrison was stalking jurors: “While the traffic violation took place near the jury van, the freelancer never contacted or intended to contact the jurors during deliberations, and never photographed or intended to photograph them.” Meanwhile, Judge Bruce Schroeder denied MSNBC further courtroom access to the trial.
