RST congestion under locally clear skies
MINNEAPOLIS – Severe winds and a thunderstorm closed the Minneapolis airport about 7 p.m. MSP-bound in-the-air flights were diverted to Rochester and other overflow regional airprts in Duluth, LaCrosse, Fargo and Grand Forks. Passenger did not deplzne. Flights resumed within an hour when the line of storms moved on. Winds topping 60 miles an hour downed trees in Northfield, Farmington, and Minneapolis.
