EITZEN, Minn. — A manhunt failed at dark for a man thought to be armed and dangerous in rural Wilmington Township. Sheriff Mark Inglett said Thomas Alvin Monson, 39, fled into a nearby cornfield and wooded area when deputies arrived after a report of physical domestic assault involving a handgun about 2:25 p.m. on County Road 27 between Spring Grove and the Iowa border village of Eitzen. The sheriff said Monson was a convicted felon with a history of violent behavior. Agencies called kin for the search were from the Winona, La Crosse, Rochester, Spring Grove and Caledonia.
