LAKE CRYSTAL, Minn. — Minnesota Congressional candidate Jeremy Munson has been linked to a college political group whose leadership has been tainted with charges of date-rape drugs and sexual assault. Munson, a Republican state legislator from Lake Crystal, is in a crowded field in a special election Tuesday for southern Minnesota’s seat in Congress. According to a news report from Washington by the Newsweek site Daily Beast, Munson. has paid Justin Greiss, $11,000 to design a door-to-door campaign across southern Minnesota. Greiss left the libertarian organization Young Americans for Liberty in 2021 amid online chatter among YAL people about sexist behavior and assault. The YAL president, Cliff Maloney Jr., eventually was charged with raping a woman at the University of Pittsburgh in 2013. Maloney has denied the allegations. As the scandal swirled in 2021, Greis left YAL, although it was not clear if he was fired. Greiss and Maloney now are in business in Florida as political consultants seeking clients around the country.
