LACRESCENT, Minn. – Searchers found the body of a mushroom hunter missing more than 2-1/2 days in a deep forest in Houston County. The search for Jason Michael Moore, 47, of LaCrescent,, ended in the Root River drainage up Chicken Ridge Road off Highway 25, nine miles west of LaCrescent – not far from where his  car had been found parked. Moore’s family reported him missing late Monday. Dozens of searchers began a massive search at dawn and later were joined by by a helicopter crew and a bloodhound. The body was located around 2 p.m. two days later. The Chicken Ridge area is known for morels. Aficionados pride themselves for having secret places where the delicacy flourishes in moist shaded loam and decaying wood.
