CHASKA, Minn. – The gasconade Mike Lindell confirmed that several major retailers have dropped his MyPillow products in the wake of his unwavering claims that President Trump was the victim of election fraud. Among Lindell’s lost outlets: Bed Bath & Beyond, Kohl’s, Wayfair and H-E-B supermarkets. At the end, even Trump dumped him. Lindell went to the White House two days before Trump’s term ended and said he had new proof that the election was rigged. They let him in. He encouraged Trump to invoke martial law if necessary to stay in office another four years. Trump listened briefly to a rehash of allegations about rigged Dominion voting machines, then sent Lindell down the hall to see someone else, who sent him back to Trump. This time Lindell couldn’t get in the door: “The President, sir, is busy.” About losing retailers, Lindell said: “They’re scared.” With his usual theatrics, he said he is being targeted unfairly, that retailers need him, and that they will come back.

MyPillow is a rags to riches story. Lindell began sewing pillows himself and hawking them at state fairs. The enterprise grew to 1,500 employees in the Minneapolis suburb of Chaska. Always with a Christian cross showing on a necklace, Lindell advertised heavily on right-wing television channels. Some claims went beyond the facts. Could the pillows really cure fibromyalgia? Restless leg syndrome? Sleep apnea? Cerebral palsy? Acid reflux? The California attorney general didn’t think so. What about being the official pillow of the National Sleep Foundation? Well, kinda. But undisclosed was that the foundation was a Lindell creation.
