ST. PAUL, Minn. – Minnesota’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate ticked down to 4.1% in April, from 4.2% the month before, according to the state jobs agency. April was the fourth straight month of growth The national growth, however, was up only 0.2% — far short of expectations. The Minnesota numbers:

> January: Up 51,600 jobs.

> February: Up 12.300.

> March: Up 20,400.

> April: Up 11,300.

Sectors that gained jobs in April: Professional and business services, government, leisure and hospitality, trade, transportation and utilities, and construction.  Gains were modest in manufacturing, mining and logging.  Losses were in education and health, financial activities Information services.
