ST. PAUL, Minn. – Veterinary scientists from the University of Minnesota are testing deer carcasses for whether Covid has infected the Minnesota herd. A 10-month study in Iowa found an alarming 80% infection rate. The Minnesota Natural Resources Department has opened its chronic-wasting disease checkpoints to university researchers for Covid sampling. There are dozens of these DNR checkpoints statewide for hunters to bring their kill. Now some are doing double duty for CWD and for Covid testiing.
